KANGAR, March 2 — Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man has denied the allegations of several quarters on social media claiming that he had accused military veterans who were anti-government as traitors.

He said he was confident his speech, when opening the annual general meeting of the Ninth Royal Ranger’s Regiment Veterans Welfare Association on Feb 24, was& distorted.

“I have never made such an accusation. In fact, the party accusing me of making the remarks was also not at the event.

“The matter can be confirmed through the video recordings which were& taken during& the function,” he told a media conference here today.

Recently, Patriot secretary-general Air Force Major (R) Mior& Rosli Mior& Jaafar& in his statement in several blogs challenged Azlan& to a debate or step down as Menteri& Besar& for saying that he regretted that some military veterans had opposed the government.

Azlan, on the other hand, said the state government had close ties and cooperation with other military associations including the Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association, the Non-Pensionable& Malaysian Armed Forces Veterans Association and the Malaysian Commando Veterans Club.& — Bernama
